Alexey Loposov

VP, Platform Engineering at Appetize

Alexey Loposov has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several companies and positions. Alexey started their career in 1998 as a Software Engineer at Enran Telecom. From 1999 to 2011, they worked at Serena Software, where they held various roles including Senior Software Engineer, Software Development Manager, and Senior Software Development Manager. During their time at Serena Software, they managed the engineering of various products and implemented Agile/SCRUM methodologies across development teams.

In 2011, Alexey served as an Independent Consultant, where they worked as the Director of Software Engineering for a major Ukrainian investment bank. Their responsibilities included building a new software development team, establishing proper SDLC processes, contributing to the product roadmap, and training Product Owners and managers.

From 2012 to 2020, Alexey worked at Guidance Software, initially as a Senior Software Development Manager/Architect and later as the Director of Software Development. Alexey managed multiple teams, delivered product releases on time, and transitioned the company's SDLC from Waterfall to Scrum methodology. Alexey also focused on process improvements in other departments and led a culture transformation initiative.

In 2017, Alexey joined mGage, a Vivial Company, as the Director of Software Development. Alexey led the development of company software products, defined architecture, and improved processes and tool stacks. Alexey also collaborated with Product Management on the product vision and roadmap.

In 2018, Alexey moved to BlackLine, where they served as the Senior Director of Engineering. Alexey led engineering projects and contributed to the company's growth and success.

Most recently, in December 2020, they joined Appetize as the Vice President of Platform Engineering.

Alexey Loposov obtained their MS degree in Computer Science from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Alexey attended the university from 1993 to 1998. Additionally, in 1994, they briefly attended the Institute for International Business Development (IIBD), but no degree or field of study information is available for that period.
