Suvajit Gupta

EVP, Engineering at Appian

Suvajit Gupta is the EVP of Engineering at Appian. Prior to joining Appian, Suvajit spent 5 years at Eloqua as their Chief Architect and then Vice President of Development. While at Eloqua, Suvajit led the redesign of their user experience, which resulted in the intuitive, powerful, cloud-based marketing automation platform that we know today. In addition to assembling and managing a team of 40 developers across multiple locations, Suvajit also drove early adoption of HTML5/REST and introduced Scrum/test automation. Under their leadership, Eloqua10 incorporated social collaboration and delivered an iPad app for Sales users. These efforts led to an IPO in late 2012 and acquisition by Oracle for almost $1B.

Before their time at Eloqua, Suvajit spent 2 years at Cigital as a Managing Consultant. At Cigital, they managed a multi-million dollar project at Marriott to build a credit card encryption/decryption service for PCI compliance. Suvajit also managed Marriott’s two-factor authentication initiative for 10,000+ remote users, sensitive data analysis and secure coding standards definition at The College Board, and TD Ameritrade’s central governance for process improvement via tools & metrics.

Suvajit began their career in 2001 as the Product Development Director at TEOCO, where they spent 4 years before moving on to Cigital.

Suvajit Gupta attended the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur where they earned their B.Tech in Electronics and Communications Engineering. Suvajit then went on to earn their M.S. in Computer & Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Gupta also has a certification from Scrum Alliance as a Certified Scrum Master.

They work with Stephanie Eade - Senior Director, Global Partner Marketing, April DelFavero, CMP - VP, Global Events, Field & Partner Marketing, and Michelle Gardner - Director, Content Marketing. Suvajit Gupta reports to Michael Beckley, Founder, CTO & Chief Marketing Officer.
