Lead Frontend Engineer at Appital

Alix Richards has over 12 years of experience in the software engineering field. From 2008 to 2010, they worked as a Customer Services Consultant at Legal and General, followed by a role as a Graphic Designer and Website Assistant at Northkey Ltd (www.thefitco.com) in 2009. In 2010, they took on the role of CS Web Developer at Dyson, where they were responsible for the creation of online help diagnostics and the roll out of online video support projects. From 2011 to 2014, they worked at Dare as a Junior Developer, where they gained a solid grounding in front end development after working alongside senior developers in the team and coding alone. Alix then moved to Zone in 2014, where they held the roles of Junior Front-End Developer, Frontend Developer and Senior Frontend Developer. In 2020, they joined Just Eat Takeaway.com as a Senior Software Engineer (Frontend) and Frontend Software Engineer. Currently, they are employed at both Appital and Elephant Healthcare as a Lead Frontend Engineer and Senior Frontend Software Engineer respectively.

Alix Richards completed their GCSEs from Evesham High School in 2000, achieving grades A*-B including Mathematics and English. Alix then attended Worcester Sixth Form College from 2000-2002, obtaining A Levels in Alix'story A, English Literature B, and Theatre Studies B. From 2003-2005, they studied at Worcester School of Art. In 2005, they graduated from University of Wales, Cardiff with a 2:1 in BA (Hons) Graphic Communication. In addition, Alix has obtained four certifications from LinkedIn in 2021 and 2022, including "Having Difficult Conversations," "Bad Boss: Dealing with a Difficult Manager," "Being Positive at Work," and "Working with Difficult People."
