William Reuschel

Inclusive Design Practice Lead at Applause

William Reuschel has extensive work experience in the field of inclusive design and accessibility. William currently works as the Inclusive Design Practice Lead at Applause, starting in 2022. Prior to this, they held multiple roles at the American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) starting from 2009. At AFB, they served as the Director of Client Services and Technical Development from February 2020 to June 2022, where they guided clients in the development of digital inclusion practices and managed the development of tools and processes. Before that, they were the Technical Development Lead from December 2017 to February 2020, leading the website redesign and migration of legacy content. Additionally, they worked as the Manager of Technical Solutions from May 2014 to December 2017, overseeing service delivery and presenting on WCAG 2. William also served as the National Technology Associate from June 2012 to May 2014, conducting evaluations and app development for AFB. William started their career as a Research Intern at AFB from March 2009 to May 2012.

William Reuschel earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Chemistry from Marshall University, completing their studies from 2008 to 2012. In addition to their academic qualifications, they obtained several certifications including Web Accessibility Specialist from IAAP - International Association of Accessibility Professionals in November 2019, CSM (Certified Scrum Master) from Scrum Alliance in March 2018, and Certified Scrum Developer from Scrum Alliance in June 2018.
