Derek Welty

Derek Welty is an accomplished electrical engineer with extensive experience in the tech industry, currently serving as a Display Electrical Engineer at Apple since November 2023. Previously, Derek worked at Microsoft from September 2019 to October 2023, where responsibilities included leading motherboard design and validation for the Xbox Hardware Design Validation Team. Derek's expertise spans power management firmware validation, Python test automation, and hardware debugging. Prior experience includes roles at Garmin International, where complex PCB designs and consumer infotainment electronics were developed, and Honeywell FM&T, focusing on scalable test infrastructure and FPGA integration. Derek holds a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology.
