Joshua Susskind

Joshua Susskind is a seasoned expert in deep learning and computer vision, currently serving as a Research Manager and Deep Learning Scientist at Apple since January 2016, where leadership of a deep learning research team involves both fundamental research and technology development. Prior to this, Joshua co-founded Emotient, taking on the role of Lead Deep Learning Scientist, and has amassed substantial experience in machine learning and neural networks, including a postdoctoral position at the UC San Diego Machine Perception Laboratory. Joshua holds a PhD in Psychology and Computer Science from the University of Toronto, complemented by an extensive background in predictive analytics, computational algorithms, and behavioral science. Academic credentials include a Master's degree from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor's degree in Cognitive Science from UC San Diego, alongside early research contributions in EEG interface development and information visualization.
