Mike Yaffe

Scientific Advisor at Applied BioMath

Mike Yaffe is a scientific advisor at Applied BioMath and a colonel in the Army Reserve Medical Corps. Mike has also worked as an associate professor at MIT Center for Cancer Research, a resident in surgery at University Hospitals of Cleveland, and an intern in surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Yaffe’s research focuses on the use of mathematics to solve problems in the biomedical sciences. Mike has worked on projects ranging from the development of new cancer therapies to the design of clinical trials for rare diseases. Mike has also been involved in the application of mathematical modeling to the study of infectious diseases, pharmacokinetics, and cell biology.

Yaffe received their undergraduate degree in mathematics from Harvard University and their MD from Stanford University School of Medicine. Mike completed their residency in surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and their fellowship in surgical oncology at the University of California, San Francisco.

Mike Yaffe attended Pikesville High School in Baltimore, MD. Mike then went on to Cornell University where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Science and Engineering. After Cornell, they attended Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine where they earned their M.D. and Ph.D.
