Ken O'Malley

Ken started aeSolutions with two partners in 1998 when their employer, a large global engineering and construction company, closed their southeast office. At the time Ken was a lead controls and automation engineer with no business management education or experience. Since then Ken has grown with aeSolutions from bonus room to board room. He has proven to be an entrepreneur able to transition as a leader with his business from a startup with five employees to a mid-sized consulting and engineering company with locations in multiple states executing critical projects for international, Fortune 100 clients.

During his career at aeSolutions Ken has held leadership positions with responsibility over every operational dimension of the business including engineering, quality, project management, accounting, legal, human resources, and IT. Ken shows a relentless focus on mastering a new practice area and repeatedly proves that he is a highly capable problem solver.

Today Ken’s most important role is to inspire the aeSolutions team to excel and improve. As an inclusive, ethics-first, and genuine leader Ken is driven by a desire to establish and maintain aeSolutions as a destination employer that cares deeply about its people. He believes that people will outperform expectations placed on them if given the freedom to act and the safety to fail. His leadership approach develops confident, high-performing employees that customers seek out for their ability to deliver results.

Ken has more than 30 years of industry experience in control and safety system engineering and management. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and a Certified Functional Safety Expert (CFSE) with a Bachelor’s of Electrical Engineering from Auburn University.
