Jeff H. Hurlbert, Brig Gen (ret), USAF has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning various industries and roles. Jeff H. currently serves as the Managing Director of Global Security and Chief Security Officer at Applied Materials, a leader in materials engineering solutions. Prior to this, they worked as an Executive Consultant at The SPECTRUM Group, providing expertise in commercial, government, international, and non-profit sectors. Jeff H. also served as the Chancellor and Commandant at the National War College, where they played a crucial role in formulating academic policies and educating future leaders in national security strategy.

Before their time at the National War College, Hurlbert held multiple positions in the United States Air Force. Jeff H. served as the Deputy Chief Compliance & Risk Officer and Deputy Inspector General, overseeing inspection and evaluation systems for the Department of the Air Force. Jeff H. also held the role of SVP and Director of Senior Official Inquiries, as well as VP and Director of Special Investigations at Headquarters U.S. Air Force, where they managed important criminal investigations, cyber activities, security operations, and policy development.

Prior to their work in the Air Force, Hurlbert held leadership positions at the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI). Jeff H. served as the Executive Director and Commander of the 5th Field Investigations Region in Europe & Africa, overseeing criminal and fraud investigative, counterintelligence, and executive protection activities. Jeff H. also served as the Vice Commander and Deputy Executive Special Agent-in-Charge in Europe and Africa. Earlier in their career, Hurlbert held the role of Director and Commander of the 5th Field Investigations Squadron in the Republic of Korea, leading criminal and fraud investigative and counterintelligence activities.

Before their time in the Air Force, Hurlbert worked at The White House as the Director of Security & Intelligence (J2), Military Office. In this role, they provided senior intelligence and security advisory to the Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of the White House Military Office. Jeff H. was responsible for coordinating and managing various security programs, including intelligence, counterintelligence, force protection, and personnel and physical security support to the President.

Brig Gen (ret) Jeff H. Hurlbert's education history includes attending the Harvard Seminar for New Presidents at Harvard University in 2022. Jeff H. also participated in the USAF Enterprise Leadership Seminar at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. In addition, they pursued a degree in Business Administration, with a focus on Accountancy, at the University of Notre Dame. Furthermore, they completed the Senior Executives in National and International Security program at Harvard University in 2021. Other educational experiences include the Leadership Development Program at the Center for Creative Leadership in 2012 and Executive Leadership training at The Lincoln Leadership Institute at Gettysburg in 2011. Jeff H. also obtained a degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College between 2010 and 2011. Additionally, they completed the Post Graduate Intelligence Program, with a focus on Military Strategic Intelligence, at the National Intelligence University, Defense Intelligence Agency, Washington DC. Jeff H. holds a Master of Science degree in Business Organizational Management from the University of Laverne, Laverne CA. Jeff H. completed their high school education at Roncalli High School.
