Shankar Swaminathan

Shankar Swaminathan is an accomplished professional in the field of materials science and engineering, currently serving as Senior Director at Applied Materials since 2023. Previously, Shankar held significant leadership roles at ASM, including Head of Global Product Marketing and Director of Process and Applications Development, where contributions included pioneering the first thermal ALD tools in the industry and building a strategic ALD program. Shankar's career also features a tenure at Lam Research, leading ALD process technology to achieve substantial business success and market share, as well as roles at Novellus Systems and Intel Corporation focused on advanced process engineering. Shankar holds a Ph.D. and a Master's degree from Stanford University and a Bachelor's degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
