James Hokanson

James Hokanson has a strong background in information technology and has held various leadership roles throughout their career. James'smost recent position was as the Chief Technology Officer at Approach Technology since February 2013. Prior to that, they served as the Information Technology Engineering Manager at Bungie from August 2010 to January 2013. James also held the position of Director of Information Technology at ICO Global Communications from January 2005 to August 2010 and at Eagle River from January 2001 to December 2005. Before that, they worked as a Systems Administrator / Project Manager at Teledesic, LLC from September 1998 to January 2001 and as a Systems Administrator / Instructor at Washington State University from August 1996 to July 1998.

James Hokanson completed their bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems from Washington State University, from 1993 to 1998. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications throughout their career. James earned the Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching (CCNA Routing and Switching) certification from Cisco in November 1999. James has also achieved multiple certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS). In September 2017, they became an AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, and in December 2017, they obtained the AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate certification. James further expanded their AWS certifications by becoming an AWS Certified Developer – Associate in November 2017 and an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner in October 2019. Most recently, in December 2020, James received the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals certification from Microsoft.
