Qasim Zafar has had a varied career since 2012. Qasim began as a Visiting Faculty at SICAS before becoming a Teaching Assistant at the Lahore University of Management Sciences in 2013. In 2014, they co-founded and became the CEO of Savaree, Pakistan's first on-demand ride hailing startup, which was acquired by Careem in 2016. In 2015, they worked as an Assistant Product Manager at PakWheels.com, leading Pakistan's first used-car certification program and certifying 5k+ vehicles in 4 months. In 2018, they became the CEO of AppRocket, a software agency that emphasizes the product process, delivering over 25 products to startups and enterprises around the world. In 2021, they became an InSITE Fellow at Sequoia Capital.
Qasim Zafar has a varied educational background. Qasim completed their GCE A-Levels from SICAS in Physics, Chemistry and Further Mathematics from 2006 to 2010. Qasim then attended Lahore University of Management Sciences from 2010 to 2014, where they earned a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Qasim then attended Stanford University School of Engineering and obtained a Master of Science in Management Science & Engineering. Most recently, they are currently enrolled at Stanford University and is pursuing a Master of Science in Computational Social Science.
