Woody Rollins

CEO at AppScale Systems

Woody Rollins is the CEO of AppScale Systems and a founding CEO of Eucalyptus Systems. Woody has over 25 years of experience in the technology industry, including stints as a principal at Old Firehouse Capital and as an engineer at HP.

Woody Rollins co-founded Eucalyptus Systems in 2008. Eucalyptus is an open-source system for implementing on-premise private and hybrid clouds using the hardware and software infrastructure that is in place, without modification.

Eucalyptus adds capabilities such as automation, end-user customization, self-service provisioning, and legacy application support to data center virtualization features, making IT customer service easier, more fully featured, and less expensive.

The Eucalyptus value proposition is predicated on leveraging open source and multiple APIs to facilitate the easy and cost effective creation and administration of hybrid clouds. Under Woody's leadership, Eucalyptus became the leading provider of private cloud software before being acquired by HP in 2012.

Since then, Woody Rollins has served as the CEO of AppScale Systems, a company that provides an open source alternative to Google App Engine. AppScale is used by some of the world's largest organizations, including NASA, Yahoo!, and Zynga.

Woody Rollins graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance.
