Sam Noh

Robotics Software Engineer

Sam Noh is an accomplished professional in the field of mechanical engineering with significant experience in robotics. As an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Vanderbilt University ARMA Laboratory from September 2015 to April 2018, Sam designed, analyzed, optimized, tested, and fabricated mechanisms for surgical robots, contributing to projects such as NSF Continuum Robots with Equilibrium Modulation and a Bladder Cancer Resection Surgical Robot. Currently a PhD Researcher at Yale University since June 2018, Sam conducts research on legged robot design and control methods for locomotion in rough terrain using passively adaptive mechanisms. Recent roles include a Robotics and Controls Intern at Johnson & Johnson MedTech from May 2023 to August 2023 and a current position as a Robotics Software Engineer at Apptronik since October 2024. Sam holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering from Yale University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Vanderbilt University.
