Senior Scientist II at Apriori Bio

Markus Arnold has a strong background in biochemistry and molecular biology. Markus has worked in various roles at different companies and institutions. In 2013, they started their career as a Research Scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they focused on screening and purifying antibodies and studying the resistance of antibacterial peptides. Markus then went on to work as a Postdoctoral Associate, leading a team in mapping bacterial genes affecting sensitivity to antibacterial peptides. In 2020, Markus joined Conagen as a Senior Scientist I, where they optimized metabolic pathways and developed enzymatic assays. Markus later worked at Sensei Bio as a Senior Scientist, and then moved to a company in Stealth Mode, where they provided molecular biology and synthetic biology consulting. Markus is currently a Senior Scientist II at Apriori Bio.

From 2008 to 2012, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Molecular Biology (Medicine) at the University of Aberdeen.

In 2007 to 2008, they attended Robert Gordon University, earning a Bachelor of Science with Honors (BSc (Hons)) in Biomedical Science.

Between 2005 and 2008, they studied at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Applied Biology, with a focus on Biology/Biological Sciences.
