Elyssa Gersen, LMHC, CRC has a long and diverse work experience. Elyssa began their career in 1998 as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor - Admissions/Assessment at Samaritan Daytop Village, Inc. In 2000, they moved to New York Therapeutic Communities, Inc. as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor and then to various Colleges and Universities as a Clinical Fieldwork Supervisor. In 2001, they returned to Samaritan Daytop Village, Inc. as an Assistant Director of Vocational Services and then as the Director of Education, Employment, and Career Services. From 2014 to 2021, they were the Director of Work Wellness Services at The HOPE Program, where they managed all work wellness services and initiatives across three programming phases, including current students, job seekers, and alumni support. Elyssa also implemented and led Connections to Care (C2C), an innovative grant to train CBO staff in mental health support modalities and increase access to mental health services for program participants. In 2022, they began their current role as a Behavioral Health Specialist at aptihealth.

Elyssa Gersen, LMHC, CRC holds a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Saint Martin's University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from The Evergreen State College. In April 2019, they obtained the Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) certification from the CRCC (Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification).
