The Accountant Aptissen GmbH will be responsible for the accuracy of the accounts for the German Affiliate and ensuring compliance with local applicable accounting standards. He/She will manage the accounts Payable and Receivable, run local payroll and report on a monthly basis to the finance team at the Headquarters in Geneva.
In addition to the accounting responsibilities the incumbent will provide administrative support to the Aptissen GmbH office.
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Finance responsibilities
- Manage all accounting operations based on accounting principles and ensure accuracy of bookkeeping and cut-off for monthly closings
- Work closely with the Chief Group accountant and global finance team and ensure monthly reporting is processed on a timely manner
- Manage the accounts payable and receivable process for the German affiliates, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and intercos
- Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns for the German affiliates, including VAT and corporate income tax.
- Facilitate internal and external audits for the German affiliates, preparing documentation and addressing audit inquiries as needed.
- Coordinate with external payroll provider to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing for the German affiliates, as well as payment of social charges and taxes if any.
- Control Aptissen GmbH expenses and report any findings to the Chief Group Accountant
- Control and process payment of Aptissen staff business expenses and report any deviance to applicable policies and regulations
- Prepare payments, reconcile and process Credit card transactions
- Keep up with financial policies, regulation and legislation
Administrative responsibilities

Manage incoming phone calls and mail

Manage the group benefit plans such as Group Health insurance and Pension

Review and manage local corporate contracts such as insurance, long term car rentals etc
Any other projects as my be required
EDUCATION/LANGUAGES
- University degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- CPA or equivalent certification
- German and English fluent
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Strong knowledge of German accounting principles (HGB) and regulations
- Experience working with German affiliate in a multinational environment is a plus
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical mind and strong knowledge of business processes in general - - pharmaceutical or medical device industry a plus
