Itay Shakury

Itay Shakury has a diverse and extensive work experience in the technology industry. Itay is currently the VP Open Source at Aqua Security since September 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Aqua Security as the Director of Open Source from February 2021 to September 2022. Before joining Aqua Security, Itay held the position of Open Source Engineering Tech-Lead from September 2019 to February 2021.

Before their time at Aqua Security, Itay worked as an Independent Consultant/Entrepreneur from August 2018 to August 2019.

Itay has also worked at Codefresh, a technology startup in the CI/CD space, as a Cloud Native Technologies Expert. Itay'srole involved R&D, product development, and providing expertise in customer relationships. Itay was with Codefresh from December 2017 to June 2018.

Earlier in their career, Itay gained valuable experience at Microsoft as a Lead Cloud Solution Architect from January 2015 to December 2017. Itay was responsible for designing and providing technical leadership to strategic customers, focusing on open source cloud native development on Azure. Prior to that, they held the position of Senior Consulting Architect (MCS) at Microsoft from February 2011 to January 2015, where they provided technology advising and led software projects for Microsoft's customers.

Itay's work experience also includes roles at SRL and Advantech Technologies, where they were involved in business applications consulting and development.

Itay began their career in the Israel Defense Forces - Intelligence Corps as an Information Technology professional from December 2003 to December 2006.

Overall, Itay Shakury has a strong background in open source, cloud-native development, and technology consulting, with experience in various leadership and technical roles.

From 2008 to 2012, Itay Shakury attended The Academic College of Tel-Aviv, Yaffo, where they completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
