Philippe Verplancke has had a diverse range of work experience. Philippe currently serves as the CEO of Aquahara Technology GmbH, where they are involved in the development of a cost-effective system that extracts drinking water from the air using solar energy. Prior to this, they founded Verplancke Ventures GmbH, where they partner with corporations and startups in various sectors such as software and technology development, renewable energy, drinking water, solar electric cooking, carbon offsets, and regenerative agriculture. Verplancke Ventures provides business development services and management support for entrepreneurs. Additionally, Philippe has worked as a Senior Advisor and Global Head of Business Development at XClinical GmbH, Marvin eClinical Solution, a company specializing in EDC / IWRS / ePRO systems for clinical trials. Philippe also served as the Founder, CEO, and Shareholder of XClinical, where they developed an innovative EDC / IWRS / ePRO system called MARVIN. Philippe has prior experience as the Head of Software Development & Operations at Nets AG and as a Senior Associate at McKinsey & Company, Inc. In addition to their professional roles, they have also been involved in a consulting project for Synaflux, Holberton, The Room, and Sand Technologies, assisting in their European business development efforts.

Philippe Verplancke obtained their PhD in Nuclear Fusion from the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics, where they studied from 1992 to 1996. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Physics and Electrotechnical Engineering from Ghent University, where they attended from 1987 to 1992.
