Joe G.N. Garcia is the current Founder & Chief Executive Officer at Aqualung Therapeutics and has worked in the medical field for over 20 years. Joe has always been interested in helping others and reducing health disparities. This led him to their previous positions, including Vice President for Health Affairs & Earl M Bane Professor of Medicine at University of Illinois at Chicago and Chairman of the Department of Medicine & Lowell T. Coggeshall Professor of Medicine at University of Chicago. In these positions, Joe was able to help establish new health care clinics and focus on personalized medicine delivery to underserved populations.

Joe’s most recent position is as the Director of Pulmonary and Critcal Care Medicine & Dr. David Marine Endowed Professor of Medicine at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine where they have worked since 1998. In this role, Joe has been able to help countless patients receive the treatment they need. Joe is a highly respected member of the medical community and their work has helped improve the lives of many people.

Dr. Joe G.N. Garcia attended The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, where they earned their MD. Joe then completed a fellowship in the Division of Pulmonary Diseases at Albany Medical College. Dr. Garcia also did their Intern and Resident training at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Joe holds a Bachelor of Science from The University of Dallas in Biology, General.
