Gary Davies

Gary Davies has a strong background in data analysis and technology, with a focus on kdb+ and the q programming language. Gary has worked at Data Intellect since 2019, where they currently hold the position of Head of Time Series Data. Additionally, they served as Head of kdb+ from 2019 to 2022. Prior to this, Gary worked at Citi from 2010 to 2019, holding various roles such as SVP, Equities, VP Equities KDB Data and Analytics, AVP Equities KDB analyst, and Officer, KDB equities data technology analyst. At Citi, they specialized in kdb and led the development of analytics platforms and data discovery frameworks within the Equities asset class. Gary also worked as a Demonstrator at Queen's University Belfast from 2007 to 2010.

Gary Davies completed their education at Queen's University Belfast. Gary started in 1996 at Larne Grammar School, where they completed their pre-university education. From 2003 to 2007, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering at Queen's University Belfast. Following this, they furthered their studies and obtained a PhD in Aerospace Engineering from the same institution between 2007 and 2011.
