Gianluca Serale has been working in the field of innovation and engineering since 2013. Gianluca began their career as a Lecturer in "Building Energetics" at Energetics Engineering and a Ph.D. Student at Politecnico di Torino. Gianluca then moved on to become an Assistant Lecturer in "Applied Physics," "Building Physics," and "Atelier of Architecture: HVAC Systems for Environmental Control" with Prof. Alfonso Capozzoli. Gianluca also worked as a Grant Researcher at Politecnico di Torino. In 2017, Serale co-founded Eresys and became the CTO. Gianluca also worked as a Freelance Civil Engineer and a Visiting PhD Student at the Sustainable Building Research Centre of the University of Wollongong. In 2018, they were a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Princeton University and a Senior Associate at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). In 2019, they worked as Business Development at Aquaseek. Currently, Serale is the Head of Open Innovation and Innovation Project Manager at Gruppo Iren. Gianluca also lectures in Building System Design at Fortechance Piemonte.
Gianluca Serale's education history includes a Bachelor's degree in Building Engineering from Politecnico di Torino, obtained between 2007 and 2010, followed by a Master of Science in Building System Engineering from Politecnico di Torino, obtained between 2010 and 2012. Gianluca then went on to obtain a PhD in Energetics from Politecnico di Torino between 2014 and 2018. In 2019, they completed a Master of Business Administration - MBA from Collège des Ingénieurs. Gianluca also holds a degree from Liceo Scientifico G. Peano - Cuneo, obtained between 2002 and 2007. Additionally, they have certifications from Cambridge Assessment English (IELTS - 8, obtained in May 2018) and Ordine degli Ingegneri di Torino - Politecnico di Torino (Abilitazione alla professione di ingegnere, obtained in October 2013).
