Chris Depner

Chris Depner has over 20 years of experience in financial services. From 2000 to 2005, they worked at the Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) as an Operations Specialist and QA Analyst. During this time, they performed extensive QA testing and review of a new proprietary clearing system, as well as supported daily clearing operations for standard processing and corporate actions. From 2005 to 2006, they worked at Bank of America as an AVP in the Global Markets Trading Technology Group. In 2006, they returned to OCC as a System Analyst, where they designed system functionality to support new exchange developed products within a proprietary clearing system. From 2008 to 2013, they worked at GETCO LLC as the Global Head of Clearing. During this time, they were a key member of the team that executed the emergency bailout, directed efforts to implement a next generation transaction processing platform with 100x performance improvements, and maintained existing self-clearing capabilities and added proprietary self clearing for futures, options, and fixed income. From 2013 to 2015, they worked at KCG Holdings, Inc. as the Head of Clearing Operations, where they facilitated the reorganization of clearing across the combined firm, consolidated broker dealers and operations, and transitioned the combined firm to a single post-trade platform and decommissioned legacy systems. From 2015 to 2019, they worked at Teza Technologies as the Director of Operations, where they negotiated new data contracts for core, market, and alternative data and coordinated implementation and daily generation. From 2019 to present, they have worked at Aquatic Capital Management as the Head of Operations, where they have negotiated and completed prime broker and fund administrator contracts and managed on-boarding process, assisted in corporate structure formation of funds for optimized operational efficiency, and completed operational due-diligence with investors and maintained ongoing risk and operations dialogue. Chris also worked at Imperative Execution Inc. as the Head of Clearing from 2019 to present, where they negotiated and managed process to move from a shared infrastructure to a dedicated realizing cost savings, and worked directly with development in the creation of the displayed market data feed.

Chris Depner attended the University of Iowa, where they earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance. Chris also holds certifications from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) for Series 24, Series 27, Series 63, and Series 7.
