Jean Frydman

Jean Frydman has extensive experience in the legal and compliance field within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Jean has held various senior roles throughout their career, starting as a Legal/Regulatory Director at Pharmcia, Inc. in 1994. Jean then worked as a Senior Attorney at Knoll Pharmaceutical from 1996 to 1999, providing legal support for product and trade regulations.

In 1999, Jean joined Pfizer as an Associate General Counsel, where they provided legal support for oncology, women's health, cardiovascular, and ophthalmology franchises. Jean also handled promotional/regulatory reviews, drafted commercial contracts, and provided general litigation support and IP life cycle matters.

After leaving Pfizer in 2004, Jean became Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary at NovaDel Pharma Inc. Their responsibilities included handling all legal matters for the company, such as HR and employment, patent prosecution and protection, drafting and executing development and licensing agreements, and regulatory matters with various agencies. Jean also provided legal risk assessments and assisted the CEO and CFO with SEC filings and SOX compliance.

Jean subsequently served as US General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Ferring Pharmaceuticals from 2007 to 2012. In this role, they managed all legal matters supporting the US business and built a compliance program from the ground up.

From 2012 to 2015, Jean held the position of SVP Legal, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary at The Vitamin Shoppe. Jean established a fully integrated legal department and was accountable for all legal matters globally for the company.

Jean then joined Fox Rothschild LLP in 2015 as a Partner Chair of the Food and Drug Law Practice. Jean provided regulatory expertise across multiple industries, including food, dietary supplements, beverages, drugs, and medical devices. Jean strategized legal and regulatory compliance for newly formed companies and those with new product lines.

In 2019, Jean took on the role of Senior Vice President and General Counsel at BioMotiv. Jean advised and prepared financial and corporate documents for new affiliate companies, drafted major in-license technology agreements from academic institutions, and negotiated deal documents with strategic pharma partnerships.

Jean also worked as the Principal Owner of JWFRYDMAN LAW | BIO/PHARMA COMPLIANCE STRATEGIES from 2015 onwards.

Currently, Jean is serving as the Vice President, Associate General Counsel, Corporate Compliance & Privacy Officer at Aquestive Therapeutics. In this role, they have built and implemented a comprehensive compliance program, providing updates to the board. Jean ensures compliance and privacy issues within the organization are appropriately evaluated, investigated, and resolved. Additionally, they have implemented systems to streamline compliance with aspects of the compliance program and privacy laws.

Jean Frydman attended the Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology from 1986 to 1990, where they earned their JD (Juris Doctorate) degree in Law. Additionally, they pursued a Masters degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management at Central Michigan University, and completed their undergraduate education at The Ohio State University with a Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology/Technologist.
