Achal Sondhi

Achal Sondhi has extensive work experience in the finance and energy industries. Achal is currently the Head of Investment & Portfolio Management at Aquila Capital since October 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Fluence, where they held various roles including GM Australia and VP Growth-APAC, VP of Growth-APAC, and APAC Market Director. Before joining Fluence, Achal was a Vice President at GE Capital from 2015 to 2019. Achal also worked as a Business Development Manager at Symbior Energy Limited from 2013 to 2015. Earlier in their career, Achal gained experience at AES as a Corporate Finance Analyst and at ICF International as an Associate in Global Power and Carbon Markets. Achal started their career as a Finance Intern at the Independent Power Producers Forum and as a Financial Planning Intern at Morgan Stanley in 2005.

Achal Sondhi attended Quarry Bay School in Hong Kong from 1989 to 1996 for primary education. From 1996 to 2003, they attended the British School and received an Advanced Level Certificate of Education in Economics, Physics, and Mathematics. Achal then pursued their undergraduate education at Macalester College from 2003 to 2007, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, with a focus on Statistics and Mathematics. After a gap, they pursued their Master of Business Administration (MBA) at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology from 2012 to 2014, specializing in Finance, Entrepreneurship, General & Energy.
