Amanda M. has a strong background in government affairs and community advocacy. Amanda began their career at the i.am.angel foundation as a Temp Intern, where they developed a mentoring program and conducted outreach to recruit at-risk youth. Amanda then moved on to Legacy LA as an MSW Clinical Social Work Intern, providing crisis intervention and support to at-risk youth in Ramona Gardens. Amanda later joined LIFT Los Angeles as an MSW Intern, identifying gaps in member services and expanding programming in the region. Amanda also worked at the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks as a Recreation Assistant, managing daily operations and promoting recreational programs for low-income communities.

In 2014, Amanda joined the Boyle Heights Rising organization as a Community Advocate, conducting needs assessments and coordinating community cleanups. Amanda also served as a Neighborhood Council Member and Planning and Land Use Committee member for the Boyle Heights Neighborhood Council. Amanda gained further experience in government affairs at the Los Angeles Mayor's Office of Public Engagement, where they worked as an East Area Representative/East Valley Area Representative.

Most recently, Amanda has been working at Athens Services, starting as a Zero Waste Manager and progressing to roles such as Government Affairs Manager, Government Affairs Senior Manager, Deputy Director of Government Affairs, and now as the Senior Director of Government Affairs. In these positions, they were responsible for managing contracts, building civic partnerships, liaising with elected officials, and supporting customers with reporting issues. Amanda has also been actively involved in community organizations, attending events and meetings to promote Athens Services' local presence.

Amanda M. completed their Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Southern California, specializing in Community Organizing, Planning, and Administration. Amanda attended the university from 2012 to 2014.

Prior to that, they earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology, with a concentration in Law and Policy, from California State University, Los Angeles. Amanda attended this institution from 2007 to 2011.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Amanda also holds certifications in CPR/ First Aid, Motivational Interviewing, and Problem Solving Therapy. The institutions or years in which they obtained these certifications are not specified.
