Austen Massey

Austen Massey is an experienced legal professional currently serving as the Assistant County Attorney for Aransas County, Texas, since March 2022, specializing in misdemeanor, CPS, juvenile, and felony trial and appellate practice. Previously, Austen held the position of Appellate and Pretrial Chief and First Assistant District Attorney at the 106th District Attorney’s Office, handling felony cases across several Texas counties. Austen also served as Assistant District Attorney for the 3rd Texas State Judicial District and the 69th Texas Judicial District. Early legal experience includes a legal clerkship at the Texas 13th Court of Appeals, where court opinions were researched and drafted, as well as internships and legal assistant roles that focused on preparing documents and conducting legal research. Austen holds a Juris Doctor degree from Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor of Behavioral Science from Hardin-Simmons University.
