Mengistu Manaye has extensive experience in the education and social work sectors. Currently serves as an HIV/AIDS advocacy and social mobilization professional, as well as a gender coordinator at Arba Minch University since December 2014 and December 2013, respectively. Previous roles include principal at the Ministerio de Educación from September 2006 to November 2013 and positions at the woreda education office from January 2004 to November 2013. Mengistu holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Florida (2014-2016) and has a Bachelor of Education in Geography from St. Mary's University (2010-2013). Additional academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Environment and Sustainable Development from Arba Minch University (2009-2012) and a degree in Geography and Environmental Studies from St. Mary University (2002-2005).
