Maaike Sterk

Maaike Sterk is a highly experienced data scientist currently working at Arbo Unie since February 2023. Prior to this role, Maaike served as Lead Data Scientist and Data Scientist at BPSOLUTIONS from September 2019 to January 2023 and gained additional experience as a Data Scientist at Techionista after completing the Microsoft Azure Academy for Data Science in 2019. Maaike took a sabbatical from May 2018 to January 2019 to relocate from Sweden to the Netherlands and spend time with family. Previously, Maaike completed a PhD in Molecular Microbiology at Uppsala University, where significant research on protein translation in bacteria was conducted. Additional teaching and research roles were held at various universities, including Uppsala University and the University of Bern. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Master of Science in Biomolecular Sciences from Utrecht University.
