Karen Wood

Karen Wood is an experienced professional in the field of intellectual property and patents, currently serving as the Head of Patents & Patent Strategy at Arbor Biotechnologies since May 2022. Prior to this role, Karen held multiple positions at CRISPR Therapeutics from October 2016 to September 2021, including Senior Director and Director of Intellectual Property. Additional experience includes a tenure as a Senior Technical Specialist and Patent Agent at Nelson Mullins and as Special Assistant to the Director at The Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University. Karen's extensive background in patent law began at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research, where a progression of roles included Senior Patent Agent. Earlier, roles included Application Scientist at Incyte and Postdoctoral Scientist at Parke Davis Laboratory for Molecular Genetics. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Physiology from the University of Michigan Medical School and a BS in Animal Science: Bioscience & Technology from the University of New Hampshire.
