Rachel Barker has over 10 years of experience in project management and urban forestry. Rachel has held various roles in different organizations, including Director of Project Management Office at ArborMetrics Solutions, LLC, Environmental Planner/Special Projects Manager/Regional Urban Forester at Central Alabama Regional Planning and Development Commission, Project Manager/Municipal Specialist at Natural Resource Consulting, Inc., Deputy Director of Operations Public Services and City Arborist/Chief Urban Forestry and Beautification at Columbus Consolidated Government. In these roles, they have been responsible for managing projects, overseeing staff, developing plans, and providing training and support to communities and organizations. Rachel has a strong background in managing risks, improving efficiency, and promoting employee engagement and development.
Rachel Barker obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape and Ornamental Horticulture from Auburn University, where they studied from 1984 to 1989. Rachel then pursued a Master of Public Administration degree in Political Science and Government from Columbus State University, completing their studies from 2004 to 2006.
Rachel Barker also obtained additional certifications, including the Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute in March 2013 and the Certified Arborist certification from the International Society of Arboriculture in June 2002.
