Connor O'Brien has a diverse work experience spanning several positions and companies. Connor started their career as a Power Electrical Engineer at the University of Michigan Solar Car Team, where they led a team in designing and testing high voltage lithium-ion battery modules. Connor then took on the role of Interim Team Leadership, where they focused on recruitment, training, and vehicle development for solar car competitions.
After their time at the university, O'Brien interned at Ford Motor Company as a Program Management Intern, managing design feasibility and developing program deliverable tracking tools.
Connor'snext significant role was at Rivian, where they held multiple positions. As a Program Management Intern, they developed the R1T/S product definition letter and performed competitive benchmarking. Connor then became a Program Management Analyst, leading a special program to define a business plan and vehicle platform for autonomous mobility. O'Brien then became a Program Manager, authoring program execution plans, supporting fundraising efforts, and creating development timelines.
O'Brien's roles at Rivian continued with their position as a Development Engineer, where they tested and evaluated early prototype vehicles. Connor then moved on to become a Lead Special Vehicle Engineer, leading a team in building and supporting Rivian's first prototype show vehicles. Following this, they became a Lead Test Engineer, overseeing product testing functions and managing a team of five test engineers. Finally, they served as a Manager of Efficiency Testing, leading a team in managing homologation tests and creating new testing procedures and standards.
Currently, O'Brien is working as a Test Engineer at Arc Boat Company. Further details about their work in this position are not available.
Connor O'Brien attended Forest Hills Central High School from 2008 to 2012. Connor then went on to the University of Michigan from 2012 to 2016, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. Connor also had a minor in Multidisciplinary Design during their time at the University.
