Arc Institute
Alison Fanton is a scientist at Arc Institute, involved in assay development and RNA sequencing since January 2025. Prior to this role, Alison was a graduate student at the University of California, Berkeley from August 2019 to December 2024, where work in the Patrick Hsu Lab focused on developing novel recombinase tools for large-scale, site-specific DNA insertion into the human genome. Experience as a research associate at StemoniX involved developing assays and performing high-throughput drug screens on iPSC-derived neuronal 3D spheroids from July 2018 to July 2019, while a research assistant position at the Jacobs School of Engineering included optimizing click chemistry and live cell imaging. Earlier roles included research assisting on CRISPR/Cas9 gene therapy for pain repression and exploring high-throughput methods of iPSC production and differentiation into cardiac cells. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Bioengineering from UC Berkeley and a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering from UC San Diego.
