Adair Borges is a Scientist at Arcadia Science since January 2022, with a strong background in bioinformatics and microbial research. Previously, Adair held the position of Miller Research Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley from June 2020 to January 2022, focusing on the bioinformatic discovery of bacteriophages with alternative genetic codes under the guidance of Jill Banfield, Ph. Prior to this, Adair was a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, San Francisco from August 2014 to February 2020, concentrating on bacteriophage inhibition of CRISPR-Cas immune systems, supervised by Joseph Bondy-Denomy, Ph. D. Adair's academic journey began at the University of Pittsburgh, where undergraduate research involved the genome and transcriptome evolution of Toxoplasma gondii from June 2012 to August 2014 under Jon P. Boyle, Ph. D. Adair holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of California, San Francisco and a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology from the University of Pittsburgh.
