Adam N. Hess

Director, Landman Library at Arcadia University

Adam has been at Arcadia since May 2014, where he has been managing Landman Library's print and electronic resources and developing Arcadia's institutional repository, ScholarWorks@Arcadia,. Additionally, Adam liaisons to the departments of Visual & Performing Arts and Media & Communication, teaches first-year seminars, university seminars and studio art courses, and is a co-chair on the Scholarly Communication Faculty Steering Committee and serves on the Faculty Senate Work and Welfare Committee.

Adam holds a Master in Fine Arts (Studio Arts | Photography) and a Master of Library and Information Science (Digital Libraries | Archives) from Louisiana State University, and received the Samuel H. Kress Fellowship in Art Librarianship in 2011 from Yale University. Prior to coming to Arcadia University, Adam was the Digital Asset Manager for the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation in New York where he curated and provided access to the foundations digital archive of digital media. Adam also currently serves as the Membership Chair for the Arts Library Society of North America (ARLIS/NA) - New York chapter and the ARLIS/NA 2018 National Conference Committee.

Adam is also an exhibiting photographer, working primarily in black & white.
