Dr. Rossett became interested in instructional technology as an English major at Arcadia at a time when technology meant films and video. She went on to receive her Doctorate of Education in Educational Technology from the University of Massachusetts. This led to work in a regional media center for the deaf and work in parent education, to a position as an Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Educational Media at Herbert Lehman College of CUNY, and then Director of the Instructional Design Center at the School of Education at CUNY’s City College.
She moved to San Diego to begin what would become a 30-year career at San Diego State University, combining scholarship, teaching in a graduate program, and corporate consulting. She has worked with many organizations, including Microsoft, Fidelity Investments, Royal Bank of Canada, California Police Officers Standards and Training, Kaiser Permanente, IRS, Hewlett-Packard, Motorola, and USAA.
Allison has served on the boards of the American Society for Training and Development, International Society for Performance Improvement, the ELearning Guild, Chief Learning Officer, and Forever Balboa Park and Diversionary Theatre.
