Caryn Urbanczyk is a Senior Biomechanist at ARCCA, specializing in biomechanical, sports, and human factors engineering analysis since September 2021. Prior to this role, Caryn served as a Doctoral Research Fellow at Imperial College London, focusing on sport performance research and biomechanics in rowing. Experience also includes positions as a Patent Examiner at the USPTO, where technical expertise was applied to review biomedical engineering patent applications, and a Research Associate in Duke University's Injury Biomechanics Laboratory, refining analysis techniques for human shoulder dynamics. Earlier roles include research at UC San Diego in muscle physiology and contributions to cartilage tissue engineering and clinical studies. Caryn holds a PhD in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from Imperial College London, a Master’s in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University, and a Bachelor’s in Bioengineering from UC San Diego.
