We’re looking for a Cloud Software Engineer to join our experienced engineering team and deliver transformative laser communications technology. You will be responsible for expanding the cloud infrastructure to support our ground stations, enabling remote operations and interfacing with wider satellite and communications systems. In this role, you will work closely with the other parts of our software team and our systems engineering team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Defining and implementing cloud architecture and services for new communications products
  • Contributing to the development, integration, testing, and operations for optical ground stations
  • Modelling, simulation and management algorithms for networks and systems

Requirements:

  • Cloud architecture and service implementation, ideally across a number of cloud providers
  • Experience of IoT systems integration, protocols, and services
  • At least 2 years commercial experience

Desirable additional skills:

  • WAN networking
  • System / network modelling
  • Dashboards, logging, and control interfaces
  • IoT protocols, gRPC, MQTT, remote firmware update
  • Linux Development with Python
  • CI/CD pipelines, GIT version control, scripting, automation
  • Experience and interest in space industry
  • AI / ML, particularly for optimisation

Location: Hybrid with travel when required. Our office is based in Osney Mead, Oxford.
