John has also advised and made angel investments in successful companies such as Admob (acquired by Google), Quattro Wireless (acquired by Apple), BlueKai (acquired by Oracle), Neven Vision (acquired by Google), Millennial Media (IPO), Savings.com (acquired by Cox), JumpTap (acquired by Millennial Media), GoPro (IPO), MedioSystems (acquired by Nokia), nToggle (acquired by Magnite) and SessionM (acquired by Mastercard).

Prior to USVP, John was the founder and CEO of Brand in Hand (acquired by FRWD in 2010). He and his team advised on or executed initiatives for major brand marketers like P&G, Coke, American Express, General Mills, Lions Gate Studios, and Best Buy. Advertising Age named John as one of its distinguished 40 Under 40 executives. John started his career as an associate at the law firm Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. John holds a JD from the New York University School of Law and a BA from the University of California at Irvine. John has never seen a scary movie and never will.
