Valerie Chen has over 10 years of professional experience. Valerie began their career in 2009 as a Business Development Intern at Gurtin Fixed Income Management, LLC. Valerie then worked as a Research Analyst at Equilar. In 2010, they joined HITACHI Consulting Co., Ltd. as a Senior Consultant, where they held roles in Business Analysis and Product Implementation Lead. In 2014, they moved to Slalom Consulting as a Consultant, where they held roles as Solution Owner and Business Analyst. In 2018, they joined CLEAR (clearme.com) as a Product Owner of Infrastructure & Security. In 2019, they joined Archipelago as Senior Director of Account Management and Account Manager of Client Development. Most recently, in 2021, they became an Associate Member at Pavilion.

Valerie Chen has a BA and BS in Economics and Nutritional Science: Physiology and Metabolism from the University of California, Berkeley. Valerie also attended the American Institute for Foreign Studies, where they completed a China Travel Program with a focus on Understanding Economic and Business Development in Contemporary China, as well as Chinese Sociology. In addition, they hold certifications as a Certified Scrum Master and Certified Scrum Product Owner from the Scrum Alliance, and a SAFe 4.5 POPM (Product Owner Product Manager) certification from Scaled Agile, Inc.
