Powertrain Simulation Engineer at Arctic Cat

Casey Root is an experienced engineer specializing in powertrain simulation with a current position as a Powertrain Simulation Engineer at Arctic Cat since September 2012. In this role, Casey focuses on optimizing 4-stroke intake and exhaust systems using Ricardo WAVE/GT-SUITE simulation and dyno testing, in addition to camshaft development with VALKYN/VT-Design. Proficiency in Python is utilized to customize simulation displays, alongside expertise in DOE optimization for kinetic parameter calibration employing genetic algorithms. Prior to this, Casey served as Design Engineering Manager at WINCO INC from April 2009 to May 2012, where responsibilities included project management and budget maintenance. Additionally, Casey worked as an Aerospace Engineer at United Space Alliance from June 2008 to April 2009, monitoring the International Space Station's Attitude Determination and Control Systems and focusing on becoming a flight instructor. Casey holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
