Karan Goenka

Karan Goenka has a strong background in security and technology. Karan currently works as a Security Lead at Arctic Wolf, starting in 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a Security Consultant from April 2022 to July 2023. From 2016 to 2022, Karan worked at IBM in various security roles. Karan served as a Security Focal and Architect, leading the architecture and deployment of enterprise-level AppSec tools and driving audit and compliance efforts. Karan also worked as a Security Architect and a Security Researcher, analyzing security technologies and managing IBM's security patent portfolio. Before joining IBM, Karan had experience at Northeastern University, where they served on the Library student advisory council, completed a Master's in Information Assurance, and worked as a Computer Science lab proctor. Additionally, they had a short-term role as a Volunteer at Greenpeace in 2012.

Karan Goenka holds a Masters degree in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance from Northeastern University, obtained between 2013 and 2015. Karan also completed their Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering at CMR Institute of Technology, Bengaluru, from 2009 to 2013. In terms of certifications, Karan Goenka has obtained various certifications including AWS Certified Security - Specialty from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in January 2024 and AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate in May 2022. Karan also holds certifications from Kepner-Tregoe, IBM, and Akamai Technologies, among others. Additionally, Karan Goenka has received a patent issuance from IBM.
