Qian Ruan

Qian Ruan has had extensive work experience in the biotech industry. In their most recent position at Arcturus Therapeutics, they served as the VP of Technical Operations and Manufacturing since January 2021. Prior to that, Qian Ruan worked at Emergent BioSolutions as the Sr. Director of Process Development and Production from October 2018 to January 2021. Qian Ruan also held various positions at PaxVax, Inc., including Director of Process Development and Production, Associate Director of Process Development and Production, Manager of Process Development and Production, and Scientist of Process Development and Production. At PaxVax, Qian Ruan was responsible for building and managing process development and clinical production teams, optimizing bioreactor and purification processes, and developing oral delivery vectors for vaccines. Additionally, Qian Ruan worked as a Scientist at GenWay Biotech and a Research Associate at Baylor College of Medicine, where they focused on cell culture optimization and large-scale manufacturing. Qian Ruan began their career as an Assistant Professor at South China Agricultural University, where they led a project on the optimization and control of large-scale culture of insect cells.

Qian Ruan obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Biochemical Engineering from the South China University of Technology. This educational pursuit took place between 1992 and 1997.
