Rohit Mahajan

Rohit Mahajan has a diverse and extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. Rohit is currently the Executive Director and Head of Analytical Development at Arcturus Therapeutics, where they lead a team of analytical scientists and oversees all aspects of analytical activities for the development, manufacturing, and stability of new drug products. Rohit is responsible for implementing analytical strategies to support the RNA-based drug product portfolio and serves as a key CMC SME for regulatory filings.

Before joining Arcturus Therapeutics, Rohit worked at Emergent BioSolutions as the Director of Analytical Development. There, they led a team of scientists in developing and validating methods for GMP testing of multiple vaccine products. Rohit also designed and executed phase-appropriate analytical strategies and managed the development of CMC strategies for clinical release of clinical products.

Prior to their role at Emergent BioSolutions, Rohit held various positions at Vical Inc. From 2009 to 2018, they served as an Associate Director of Assay Development, and from 2006 to 2009, they were a Senior Scientific Manager in the same department. Rohit also held the positions of Manager of Assay Development from 2003 to 2006 and Research Scientist in Molecular Biology from 1998 to 2003.

Rohit Mahajan's career began at The Scripps Research Institute, where they worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow from 1993 to 1998.

Throughout their career, Rohit has demonstrated expertise in analytical development, method validation, material specifications, and product characterization. Rohit has also gained experience in managing teams and developing CMC strategies for regulatory compliance.

Rohit Mahajan completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Swarthmore College, where they attended from 1980 to 1984. Afterward, they pursued further education at the Joan & Sanford I. Weill Medical College of Cornell University, where they obtained a PhD in Cell Biology from 1986 to 1992.
