Steve Hinkle

Since 2003, Steve Hinkle has been responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of Ardent’s corporate compliance program.

Previously, Mr. Hinkle served as senior litigation counsel with HCA Inc., and was responsible for coordinating litigation involving governmental investigations and other commercial litigation.

He also worked as a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice, Fraud Section, and Criminal Division, prosecuting federal criminal cases primarily in the area of financial institution fraud.

Prior to his tenure at the Department of Justice, Mr. Hinkle served on active duty with the U.S. Marine Corps as an armor officer and a judge advocate; he retired as a lieutenant colonel.

He received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Oklahoma in 1979 and was awarded his J.D. degree from George Washington University in 1985, graduating with honors. Mr. Hinkle is a member of the Tennessee Bar.
