Chiayu Yang began their work experience as an R&D Engineer at Long Shine Electronic Company in 1987. From 1988 to 1993, they worked as a System and Network Engineer at Soochow University's Computing Center. Chiayu then advanced to the role of Senior System and Network Administrator at the same institution from 1993 to 1999.
In 2016, Yang joined ARES Corporation, where they held multiple roles. Chiayu started as an IT Engineer and Senior Webmaster, responsible for providing support for web and application development, managing websites and databases, and ensuring compliance with federal requirements. Chiayu also served as an IT Engineer in server management.
Since 2019, Yang has been a Senior Software Engineer at Millennium Engineering and Integration, where they continue to contribute their expertise.
Chiayu Yang completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Computer Science from Soochow University between 1983 and 1987. In 2013, they pursued further education in Information Technology, first at Rice University and then at the University of Toronto. In 2014, they enrolled in the University of California, Irvine to study Mathematics.
Additionally, Chiayu Yang obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 1994, they received the Solaris 2.x System Administration I & II certification from Sun Microsystems. In 1998, they obtained the SA-135 Solaris 2.x System Administration Essentials and SA-285 Solaris 2.x System Administration certifications, also from Sun Microsystems. In 2013, they earned the Oracle 11g: DBA Administration Workshop I certificate from Montgomery College. Furthermore, they obtained the Creative, Serious and Playful Science of Android Apps certification from Coursera Verified Certificates in 2014, the English for Career Development certification from Coursera Course Certificates in 2019, and the MATLAB Onramp certification from MathWorks in 2021.
