Jon Kocen

Jon Kocen has extensive work experience in various roles within the aerospace and technology industry.

From 2014 onwards, they worked for ARES Corporation as a Project Manager, Scrum Master, and JIRA Admin. In this role, they led the Scrum Master for the IT Department, ensuring implementation met user expectations. Jon also served as the Project Lead for the Operations team, coordinating with internal and external organizations to implement new technologies and upgrade existing infrastructure. Additionally, they supported NASA in determining the IT Strategic and Tactical plans for the ISS Program and introduced the concept of APIs and data sharing.

From 2011 to 2014, Jon worked as the Manager of Application Services at DB Consulting Group, Inc. Jon managed a budget of over $5 million and 50 employees, ensuring that budget and schedule constraints were met while implementing process improvements to streamline software development and improve customer communication.

Jon's earlier experience includes working as a Project Manager at ARES Corporation from 2009 to 2011, a Project Lead at United Space Alliance from 1994 to 2009, and a Senior Space Shuttle Instructor at Rockwell Space Operations Contract from 1989 to 1994. In these roles, they demonstrated technical strength in web application security, designed and developed enterprise intranet applications, and provided training and coordination for NASA Ground Controllers.

Jon Kocen attended Texas Tech University from 1980 to 1984, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical-Electronic Engineering Technology. Throughout their time at the university, they focused on computer science and management within their field of study.

In terms of additional certifications, Jon Kocen became a Certified Scrum Master in November 2018. Jon also obtained a certification as a Certified Scrum Product Owner, with the institution listed as "scrum all", also in November 2018.
