John DeTore

Director, Strategic R&D at Arga Investment Management LP

John DeTore has held a variety of roles in the finance and investment industry since 1983. John began their career as a Quant Research Analyst at Boston Company, followed by a role as Director of Product Development at Isys Corporation in 1984. In 1986, they moved to Wellington Management as a Quant Research Director, and then to Putnam Investments in 1993 in a similar role. In 2001, they became CEO and Chief Investment Officer of United Alpha. From 2008 to 2010, they were a Senior Lecturer at the MIT Sloan School of Management, and then a Trustee on the Fund Board at Segall Bryant & Hamill from 2010 to 2018. From 2018 to 2021, they were the Chief Investment Officer at Capitalogix. Currently, they are the Director of Strategic R&D at ARGA Investment Management, LP.

John DeTore attended Trinity Valley School from 1965 to 1976. John then attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1976 to 1980, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. John returned to Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1982 to 1983, graduating with a Master of Science in Civil Engineering/Transportation.
