Argenta is currently looking to fill the role of Senior Utility Mechanic in the Argenta, Shawnee Kansas

The Senior Utility Mechanic position is an opportunity for motivated, driven individuals to showcase their ability to multi task and work as a team. 

The Senior Utility Mechanic will provide value through the following responsibilities: 

  • Install, repair, and upkeep of the Argenta, Shawnee utilities and facility, including machines, mechanical systems, buildings, and other structures. May include miscellaneous basic repairs and general upkeep to more complex activities such as boilers, chillers, electrical, heating, air conditioning work, and operate/repair equipment.
  • Maintain a schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery
  • Diagnose and repair machine failures independently as well as work with other members of the team on various repairs both big and small
  • Follow best practices, SOP’s, and other safety guidelines
  • Complete work orders in a timely and efficient manner
  • Plan and prioritize workload
  • Track and maintain tool and parts inventory

Senior Utility Mechanic requirements:

  • 2 years of a skilled craft at a vocational school or community college or,

  • 5 years relevant hands on experience or combination of education and experience

  • Possesses a strong understanding of GMP regulations.

  • Requires excellent written, communication and organizational skills and the ability to work with others

  • A good understanding of factory processes and technology

  • Multi-skilled in basic electrical and electronic practices, welding, and machining including experience with a metal lathe, MIG/TIG welder, and vertical end mill.

  • Possess a strong understanding of the broad range of systems to support the Argenta, Shawnee location (electrical, gas, HVAC, cooling, water, and various production equipment)

  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office products

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

This position is subject to a DEA background check post offer and at regular intervals.  This position is also required to complete a post offer drug test. Both the background and drug test must comply with company standards or offers of employment will be rescinded.

This position may rotate shifts based on production needs and training. Must be able to rotate shifts and work overtime as needed.
