Job overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Architect to join our strong and friendly development team. This role requires someone with inherent self-motivation, an exceptional team mindset, and a natural passion for software products that delight users.

As a Senior Cloud Architect at Argilla, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing our cloud infrastructure for scalability, reliability, and performance. Achieving these goals will require a combination of creativity, rigor, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

The role

In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the development and optimization of our cutting-edge cloud infrastructure. You will bring a wealth of knowledge in cloud technologies, along with a proven track record in scaling and securing complex cloud environments.

  • Strategic Cloud Architecture Design & Optimization: Lead the design and refinement of our cloud architecture, focusing on scalability, performance, and reliability. Select and utilize optimal cloud services and technologies to meet our evolving business needs.
  • Advanced Security Implementation & Compliance:
    • Strategically define and execute processes to attain and maintain critical security certifications, such as SOC2, ensuring our infrastructure adheres to the highest security standards.
    • Lead and coordinate efforts to integrate our services into various cloud marketplaces, meticulously ensuring alignment with their stringent security protocols and compliance requirements.
  • Performance Monitoring & Operational Excellence: Establish comprehensive monitoring and logging mechanisms to oversee system performance. Regularly analyze key metrics to identify optimization opportunities and ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Robust Backup and Disaster Recovery Planning: Develop and maintain sophisticated strategies for rapid recovery and minimal downtime, including robust backup protocols for critical data and systems.

About you

We are interested in candidates from diverse backgrounds, as we believe unique perspectives enrich our team. Our primary focus is on individuals who can demonstrate robust skills in managing Linux-based infrastructures and possess significant experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar software engineering role.

Effective communication is crucial at Argilla, and we value the ability to express ideas clearly in English, whether interacting with colleagues or external audiences.

Skills

  • Extensive experience with Kubernetes and helm for maintainable and robust deployments.
  • Proficiency in Google Cloud and AWS.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure code for cloud resource management (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions) for automating deployment pipelines.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, including managing and scaling database instances and backups.
  • Experience with Python or other dynamic languages, and willingness to work on a large Python codebase is a plus.
